Physical therapy, manual therapy and pelvic and pelvic floor physiotherapy reimbursements: what you need to know before December 31st 2025

Thinking about changing health insurance? Now is the time. The new reimbursements for non-contracted care are known and they affect what you actually get back in physical therapy, manual therapy or pelvic and pelvic floor physiotherapy. You have until December 31st to change your policy.

Why we choose non-contracted care

At EBP Studio Amsterdam, we consciously opt for non-contracted care so that we can give you the time and personal attention that your body and symptoms deserve. It is a growing problem within our health system that health insurers reimburse physical therapists at rates that are far below the actual costs.

An impression of what lies behind a treatment: extensive and expensive training and specialization, continuous training, rent, equipment, administration and — most importantly — time.
However, the fees are not in line with this.

This mismatch puts pressure on practices and ultimately on the quality and accessibility of care. Thousands of physical therapists quit last year.
By opting for non-contracted care, practices can prioritize quality and personal attention, instead of volume-driven models due to low reimbursements. In short: you are not a number with us.

How your compensation works:

After your appointment, you will receive the invoice by email or you will pay immediately
You submit the invoice to your health insurer
If you have additional insurance for physical therapy, you will in most cases receive substantial compensation

Due to Dutch privacy laws, we cannot check for you exactly how much you will be reimbursed — the best way to know in advance is to call your insurer. Coverage may vary by policy.

Physiotherapy

First appointment (codes 1864 + 1000) — €75—€85
Follow-up appointments (code 1000) — €37.50—€42.50

Manual therapy

EBP Studio Amsterdam also offers specialized manual therapy. Due to its specialist nature, the fee for this is usually higher.

First appointment (codes 1864 + 1200) — €90—€100
Next 7 treatments (code 1200) — €45—€50

Pelvic and Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

Finally, EBP Studio Amsterdam offers specialized pelvic and pelvic floor physiotherapy. Due to the specific focus on pelvic health and related complaints, the compensation for this is usually higher.

Pelvic floor intake (60 min) — €125.00
Follow-up pelvic floor treatment (30 min) — €62.50

These treatments can help you with pelvic and pelvic floor problems, postpartum recovery, bladder or bowel problems and other pelvic-related problems.
If you have additional physical therapy insurance, you will in most cases receive substantial compensation.
